Some Notes On Skin Remedies

One thing i love and  i think is very important about beauty is not the makeup you wear but the soft skin that you should consistantly maintain. That is why i love making homeade, all natural face masks and scrubs. They are very simple but have extreme benefits for a bunch of different purposes. And also the great thing about them is that the ingredients are in your kitchen! Okay now i bet you've read that before on beauty sites (at least i have) and thought "ew, not really diggin putting eggs and weird food concoctions on my skin. Not cool!" Yes I thought that before too, but the thing is food, especially produce, have vitamins and antioxidants that do wonders for your skin but are not as often found in our purchased face washes and scrubs. They also save a bunch of money, which is always a plus. For my skin remedies that i'll be posting i have some tips and precautions for using them:

1. DO NOT use a mask that you could have an allergic reaction to. if you're lactose intolerant don't start putting yogurt or milk on your face. putting something on your body that you are allergic to could have the same affect as putting it in your body.

2. Always put masks or scrubs on clean skin. For your face, you could wash it with some kind of product or you could just make a very hot cup of water and let the steam open up your pores and kill bacteria (don't do this over like a bowling pot of water, the direct heat from the stove can really burn your face!)

3. Consider that the mask/scrub is likely going to be verrry messy, so when applying anything wear clothes that you don't mind getting sticky or anything, and tie your hair back so it doesn't get that gross either (i usually just take a shower after i'm done so i can wash anything that has gotten on my neck or in my hair; i just don't wash my face in the shower cuz i already did that for the mask).

4. I recomend that when there are thick ingrediants in the remedy, like oatmeal or wheat flour, that you put the stuff on and rinse it off a sink disposer so it doesn't clog up your sinks. and believe me, it will!

5. Don't get anything in your eyes, and keep the scrubs of the delicate eye area. Some of the products can really make your eyes burn, so just be extra careful, if you get it in your eyes then immediately rinse them out with water. And also, the skin around your eyes is very delicate because it is so thin, and scrubs are meant for the rest of your skin because it's not as sensitive. So maybe softer masks that contain no exfoliation in them are okay to apply in the eye area, but overall be careful on that part of your skin. Oh, which reminds me...

6. When you use an exfoliation scrub on your face you don't need to massage it into your skin with any pressure. The eye area is the most delicate part on your face but the rest of your face is delicate also. With masks you can massage it in with comfortable pressure, but use no pressure when rubbing a scrub on your face.

Well i think i covered everything that i wanted to warn you guys about. These masks are not harmful to eat because they are stuff you already eat, so you don't need to worry about that. I just wanted to warn you about the safety rules, and if you are questionable about anything you can ask me. And even though these remedies are safe if you are underage get a gueardian's permission because they might not like you messing with their kitchen ingrediants. Okay that is all and i will update soon with an awesome scrub/cleanser that i really like. Take care :)
